Gary describes it as a nice medium sized blue bowl with hand painted cats on it, about 7+ inches in diameter at the top and 4+ inches tall. I threw the bowl on the wheel then glazed inside blue and painted the cats (like my cat Spike!) outside and then covered it with clear glaze, fired to 2200 degrees. maybe the cutest cat bowl EVER! OK in microwave and dishwasher.

We have another giveaway from a generous member of the Seagrove community, Meredith Heywood, co-owner with her husband Mark of Whynot Pottery. Mrs. G. was lucky to stay with Meredith and Mark on her road trip this summer. Mrs. G. is not exaggerating when she tells you if she did not have a family she loves dearly in Seattle, she might have stayed and set down roots.

Molly Murphy Adams is originally from Missoula, MT. A mixed blood descendent of the Oglala, Lakota tribe, Murphy Adams was raised in western Montana and earned a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from The University of Montana in 2004. Molly learned beadwork at a very early age as well as hide tanning, sewing and traditional clothing design. Molly's jewelry design stems from a combination of traditional Native arts and modern fashion and culture.

Jennie Lorette Keatts was raised in New Hampshire, and graduated with a BA from the University of Colorado. She lived in Colorado until July 1999 working and traveling in the international tourism and hotel industry. In 1996 she took a basic jewelry making class and began to do some very simple pieces using pottery and glaze drips for the shop at Jugtown Pottery, owned by her sister Pam Owens and husband Vernon. She also began to collect beads and to make necklaces designed exclusively for Jugtown Pottery using handmade pottery miniatures and beads created by Pam. As life in the tourism industry grew more stressful and unfulfilling, she decided to give it up and move to Jugtown to pursue her dream of jewelry making. In July 1999 she quit her job and moved to the very creative and serene environment of Jugtown Pottery in Seagrove, NC, to pursue her dream of designing jewelry at Jugtown Pottery. She lives within walking distance of Jugtown with her husband Wes, their dog and three cats! And she has never looked back!

A friend gifted Mrs. G. with this light, lovely, new, still wrapped in fancy paper and ribbon King-Size Pottery Barn duvet cover to offer in a giveaway. She was tempted to keep it, but Mrs. G. doesn't have a king-size bed or comforter. The giveaway only includes the duvet cover, no shams or that fancy ass bed.
