Homeschooling Tip of the Day

If your children are five and older, go get them right now and teach them to use the washer and dryer. All you need is a stool and a Sharpie. Mrs. G. used a Sharpie to write specific instructions on the washer and dryer and put large dots on the cold/cold setting. Everybody does their own laundry at Derfwad and Mrs. G. is pretty sure you know the kids aren't the ones who fall behind on it.

the Sharpie writing will come off with a little elbow grease when you don't need it down the road

5K Ass Project Week Six

Keep in mind the camera adds 48.7 lbs. Mrs. G. and her daughter did this in one take. Sorry for the abrupt ending, but for some reason every neighbor on Mrs. G's street chose this exact moment to come outside and wonder what Mrs. G. and her daughter were up to. OK, OK, that was a lie. No one cared, but Mrs. G. was getting a little self-conscious. Can you tell Mrs. G. is married to an Italian? She's big on hand gestures.

Special thanks to the sweet chicklet behind the camera.

Mancake!

Here is where you come when you want a slice of Mancake with your coffee...

jd and kid

Yeah, yeah, he's a rough and tumble bad boy and a sexy, salty pirate, but he also plays peek-a-boo with his little girl.

Homeschooling Tip of the Day

Mrs. G. thinks these are some of the best and most beautifully photographed books EVER written. If you want to teach yourself or your family about how the rest of the world lives, American Affluenza, simplicity, consumer greed, world cuisine, economics and the common bond of humanity, buy them or check them out from the library. They are all written and photographed by Faith D'Aluisio and Peter Menzel.

What culturally diverse families buy and eat in a week...

Homeschooling Tip of the Day

Mrs. G. has been packing up books that her kids have outgrown. Some she is giving away and others she is putting in the attic for safekeeping. When she asked her kids about this one, they both yelled KEEP IT. This book is sweet with a side of sweet, topped off with a dollop of sweet. The illustrations are amazing.
