Road Trip Recipe: Cha Cha's Over the Moon Crunchy Salad.

It's simple, it's artery clogging, it's delicious -- everyone at the Kansas City party wanted the recipe.

Cha Cha's Crunchy Salad

Cook 1 C oil, 1 C sugar, 1/2 C vinegar & 4T soy sauce until sugar is melted.

Fry 1 stick butter, 4 oz slivered almonds, 2 pkg crushed ramen & 4t sesame seeds til lightly browned (I usually double this part because I like the crunchy stuff).

Toss before serving with 1 head lettuce & 1 head napa cabbage.

Yum!

This is a wonderful salad. It got rave reviews when I made it for a family get-together.

I've made a lower cal/lower fat version of this salad, and just by the recipe ingredients I can tell that this one is superior!

This looks wonderful! Is the lettuce/cabbage shredded? And I can tell that I would probably double the crunchy stuff as well - if I do, should I just make a single recipe of the dressing?

Salad, salad for all!

Yes, Anne, the cabbage and lettuce are shredded - that was just my recipe shorthand. I've always had dressing left over, and I'm totally a dressing whore. So, no need to double the dressing.

Enjoy!
