Olympian Mancake of the Day...It's Patriotism Baby!

Anthony Lee Ervin is an American international swimmer who won a gold medal in the men's 50-meter freestyle and a silver medal in the US relay team's 4x100-meter freestyle event at the 2000 Olympics.

Raised in Valencia, California, Ervin is of Jewish descent on his mother's side and African-American and Native American descent on his father's side, which might explain his exceptionally good-looking mug.

Ervin stopped swimming competitively at the age of 22 in 2003 and auctioned off his 2000 Olympic gold medal on eBay to aid survivors of the 2004 tsunami.

Ervin, now 31, began training again in 2011 and will compete in the 50-meter freestyle event at the 2012 Summer Olympics next week.

What is it about swimmers' bodies? Mrs. G. looks at them and then ovulates about 45 seconds later.

KABOOM, like that.

Go Anthony!

I just read his story in Rolling Stone (and committed his photo to memory). He is a marvelous young man all around and I hope I can watch him bust his moves next week. Beauteous.

LOL!!! Where do you come up with those comments, Mrs. G?? Laughing so hard here, and going to steal that one when man watching with my gfs. Even tho we're in our 50's, we are very happy to still be experiencing those "wet panty" moments when spotting a hottie.

You know - I am not usually a fan of shoulder to wrist tattoos - but....oh my, oh my, oh my. And Mrs. G.? I swam in my teens and I am still surprised that I was relatively monogamous with a non-swimmer boyfriend. Something about a lithe, lean, long body, clad in an ounce of material and doing powerful things. Sigh.

I could trace his tattoos all day...

I'm getting too old. All I can think while looking at that picture is "What a nice young man!"

Any other questions?

I love that he sold his medal to help out the tsunami survivors. Brilliant!

I'm not a fan of full-sleeve tats, but I admit his arms look durned good... matching his person.
