Cheeseheads

004

Christy Lee is a vivacious lover of life. Being around her is akin to absorbing sunlight after weeks of gloomy days. Mrs. G. arrived at Christy Lee and her husband Donny's house and within a half-an-hour, she and Mrs. G. were on the road to explore. Their first stop was Culvers for Mrs. G's first taste of Wisconsin cheese curds. It's hard to argue with fried cheese.

Curds consumed, they toured the historic Milton house which was built by Joseph Goodrich and is believed to have been a stop on the Underground Railroad.

001

Christy Lee and Mrs. G. squeezed through the underground tunnel which connects the main building to a nearby cabin.

005

Next stop: the Wisconsin State Capitol.

006

It's a gorgeous building, and Mrs. G. and Christy Lee infiltrated a Maryland Boys Choir's guided tour and learned the ins and outs of the of the capitol's architecture and artwork.

008

Hey, Christy Lee.

010

What up, Wisconsin?

015

Mrs. G. and Christy Lee met up with some derfs at the Bonfyre American Grille. Melissa, Tanya and Jenny make a toast with their various flavored mousses.

016

A sugar-coated three way.

017

These were some of the funniest women on the tour: Lindsay, Jenny, Christy Lee, Tanya and Melissa. It was difficult to reign in the laughter...

021

and even more difficult to say goodbye.

002

Thank you, Christy Lee and Donny, for the comfortable couch and the great coffee. You two newlyweds are crackerjack.

Deep fried cheese! Despite my Wisconsin connections, that is something I have never tried...
Looks like a great stop on the Derfwad Tour!

Oh they are adorable. And I often cross the border for real cheese curds from Wisconsin.

Fired cheese curds, hard to imagine that they wouldn't be just wonderful! Sounds and looks like you had a great time.

Now that you've had the official food of Wisconsin (other than beer), might I suggest that the next Derfpalooza be a tour of various state fairs? Then you could try all of these delicacies, but on a stick!

Wish I would have known you were going to be in Milton, that I might have been able to manage, I'm in Janesville. So glad you had a good time and got to enjoy some of WI finest food.....curds :-)
