that cat's got real pretty eyes.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAmy G. (no relation)

There once was a cat on the wall
In a dark corner of Mrs. G's hall
    The Mr. said "ICK!"
    "It's making me sick!"
So it toured the U.S., scaring all.

June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterkate in Michigan

I too love cats and if I don't win I for sure will have to buy one of these. It is very cool!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKay

    What Kate said!!!!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDiane Carol

When we were first introduced to the kitty art I was on the 'Give Mr. G. a break and take that thing out of the bedroom' camp. I have since learned the error of my ways. A kitty convert, I am.

Kate I said describing the BEAUTY. Don't give Gary an ideas.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermrs. g.

    I can't let Gary
Be the first with a haiku
    For this awesome cat.

Nicely done, Kate. Setting the bar high early in the game.

    That is one hot pussy!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKelley

Suffice to say I've never seen one quite like it ... and we're moving to OR next week, so maybe my odds of seeing its cousin are improved!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterEmily

'Tis timelessly beautiful, and I will help you with airmail costs should I win. At an outdoor market I recently saw a nearly matching gigantic beach towel and thought of you. But I assume you don't want to be inundated with mediocre, er, I mean priceless cat art from around the globe?

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMustang Sally

My aunt had a cat which looked exactly like your folk art cat. Her name was "Melisma" because she went howling around all day in that Siamese way, running vocal scales up and down like a furry Mariah Carey. I think that portrait is GENIUS!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJen

That is a pretty pretty cat!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRegina

    Come to mama, Kitty.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJo

so...i'm not a fan of cats, but...for the sake and prosperity of Derfdom (and because i think that if i carried that container about, it would be a conversation starter), i'll say that you couldn't have picked a more perfect picture to represent what the Manor is all about...and for that i will say that she (he?) is just beeeeyutiful.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterdebKuroiwa

    Slinky Siamese
    Staring from my coffee cup
    Freaky deep blue eyes

Man, I haven't written a haiku in years. That was fun! Thanks for the chance Mrs. G!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDaniH

Here Kitty Kitty!! Come on you puddy-tat!!!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBonnie

    I take in all kinds
    But my first? A Siamese.
    Her name was Bambi.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDenise

Oh my, your priceless, folk-art cat is so very beautiful!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSharon

    Dear Lucky Derf,
Would you like a smidgen of dead mouse with your coffee?
    No? Your loss.
    XOX,
your beautimous, priceless, folk art kitty

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDeborah

    Oh kitty kitty
    Sitting pretty on a cup
    I'll fill with coffee

Hey I did it! I haven't tried to write haiku since hating it in high school!

    See what you've done Rith
    Turning us into poets
    And now we know it

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLisaWinks

Oh dear - I haven't had enough coffee to be as creative as Deborah, Kate, Denise, DaniH and CLaudia. Although perhaps there is not enough coffee in the world to describe the beauty of that cat.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermomwhoknits

You know how much I love cat art!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSmalltown Me

The cat sits regal in its frame
    Surveying all in its domain
The fairest feline on the wall
Why, that's the Derfwad mascot, y'all.

Looking forward to meeting Mrs. G and the Art Cat soon.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenter1Les

Love this mug. I miss my kitty Snickers; she's been gone a year.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRainbow Motel

Having seen the PRICELESS folk art in person already, you all are in for a huge treat! Mrs. G's kitty portrait is all kinds of awesome. In short, it is beautiful.

Now how did I miss this mug when I placed my order? 15oz of coffee? I'll have this and 2 refills daily, please!

    Siamese kitty
piercing blue eyes stare at me
    I hope I win it!

    Love me some kitteh!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRachel

I need the coffee and the siamese to go please.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJanet K.

"pussy cat, pussy cat, I love youuuu...."

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenter~ Galiena

Mustang Sally, I love the idea of inundating Heather with priceless cat art! But I also sympathize with Mr. G. Greatly.

I love all cats. If the cat is creepy and his eyes follow me around the room, I can turn the mug the other way.

Does that count as a compliment?

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenteraphrodite

Only a mother understands the love between a cat and another...

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDeb

    oh, kitty kitty
fill me up with coffee and
    bring peace to Mid East!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commentergretel

There is no kitty, quite a pretty, as the kitty on the steel mug...I think it was pretty good up until the end!

    When you say 'beauty' ....

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commentertrash

Vous avez là un chat magnifique Madame G.!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterVéronique

Mrs. G hung a cat on the wall
That would either enchant or appall
It would follow with its eyes
    Mrs. G when she’d rise
And when into her bed she would fall.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterVivianne

    I NEED this!!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterNadine

...and don't forget who so selflessly sent you the photo upon which your folk art cat was modeled. Yup. That would be me.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterjanet

I meant to say, "your beautiful, priceless folk art cat". Indeed, I did.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterjanet

Beautiful priceless folk art cat - I think that there should be a collection of them!

June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterThe Other Kay

I used to have a piece of priceless folk art that I bought at the Goodwill in Maple Valley, WA. It was of a red-haired lady in an orange and teal argyle sweater vest. Done in oils. House guests would always ask who it was, and I would answer "My Great Aunt Lucretia." Loved that painting. But I eventually succumbed to the taunts and threats of my family and got rid of it. I've regretted it ever since.

I wish I had fortitude and courage like yours with the kitty painting. Love that kitty.

June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJenny in NC

    Ice blue feline eye
    Staring me down with disdain
    Must bow before Cat!

June 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJFS in IL

One can never have too many travel mugs---especially one with cool kitty artwork! See you in a month!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterdebra

I saw a horribly lovely cat painting on Antiques Roadshow awhile ago. Of course I can't remember the details right now, but it was worth a LOT of money. So hang on to those feline frames, you just never know!

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commentergina

As an art appraiser I am qualified to deem that fabulous folk art - PRICELESS. The Keno brothers would have to agree with me.

    June 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermolly

Unabashedly thieving the song... (which will be stuck in our heads the rest of the night)

He is Siamese if you please
He is Siamese if you don't please
He is from a residence of Bellevue
There is no finer cat in your purview

Mrs. G and cat will soon be driving round and round
Maybe we can reach each Derfwad in their town
If we sneaking up on a Derf carefully
There will be head for you and a tail for Mrs. G.

He is Siamese if you please
He is Siamese if you don't please
Now planning for each temporary domisile
If we like, we stay for maybe quite a while
