Yes, although we reverted to winter this week. My tulips are shivering under the snow.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
My brother hit me in the eye with a stone, and many years later internal scarring is causing a cataract to form. I see interesting halos around headlights while driving at night.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Flight. I've already got enough of a tail.

Despite legislation prohibiting it, people using their mobile phones while driving.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
Last year the husband and I rented a teensy condo right on the Atlantic in Florida. Two rooms, two burners. It was a lesson in how we could do very well with so much less *stuff.* We opened the windows to hear the surf. I cooked great meals on those two burners. When I wasn't walking on the beach I was planted on the balcony. We loved it so much we repeated the whole holiday two months later.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? Yes

6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? People who drive in the right lane and then won't let others merge onto the highway
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? I have been fortunate to have been to a lot of wonderful places but there is no place like home, wherever that may be.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? Yep, although it was pretty resistant to the idea at first.
2) What was your worst childhood injury? My one and only major injury was cutting my head open and needing a four inch row of stiches when I was 10. Playing tag and got pushed/fell onto a metal strip on edge of house. (I didn't have another major injury for 33 years...in spite of all the crazy stuff I did)
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? Fly girl here!
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work? Finish this darn final english paper.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance? Eat liver and onions.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? People who drive 10-20 miles below the speed limit. Gah.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Too many beautiful locations to say it was in Hawaii, Alaska, or some other gorgeous spot. I really like the days when I'm sitting here at the dining room table and look around and for that brief moment...right here is paradise.
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
It has, but none of my daffodils have bloomed, while I see them all around. I live on the shady north side of a mountain.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
I was more sick than injured as a kid, but I've grown into hearty stock.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Seeing the hawks glide on the wind currents really inspires a little bit of envy. A tail would be one more thing to step on or shut in the door.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
The kids have the week off, this is one of the days I get to be with them. Dentist appts this am, then... we haven't scheduled it.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
naked pictures
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
Driving behind someone doing 10 under the speedlimit with no options to pass. Hey, if we're going the speed limit and I left late, it's all on me, but when I leave on time and get behind that person...
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
I haven't been anywhere with no mosquitos yet. There are tropical islands I day dream about visiting someday. For now I am very fond of my little corner of New England- Mountains, ocean, little towns and big cities all around. Moose, loons, hawks, eagles, covered bridges, traffic circles: things a lot of people never get to see.
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Yes indeed, way too early. March, which is usually our snowiest month of the year, was dry as a bone and now all the plants have been tricked into thinking we are deep into May already. On the upside, the lilacs are heavenly this year!
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
I was spinning in the front yard, you know, arms outstretched and going in circles to make yourself dizzy. Unfortunately I chose the stupidest place of all to do this and landed butt first on the larger of two ornamental cement deer. Right on the antler, wouldn’t you know? That mean old deer made a big gash in my butt cheek, plus I had to endure weeks of embarrassment as my brother retold the tale to any kid who would listen.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
If only I weren’t afraid of heights, I’d definitely choose flight. I marvel at watching birds glide and swoop in the sky.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Working in my gardens. I just bought most of the plants for my summer veggie garden, plus I have a mess of wildflower seeds that need planting. If only I could work two days, and have five days off!
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
I detest going into the crawlspace under our house. Oh, and probably driving in any large city (New York, San Francisco, LA, Chicago).
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
Tailgaters can sometimes push me right over the edge…
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
We love the small town of Salida, Colorado, and hope to retire there someday. Deep in the Rocky Mountains, this is a place where you can still see the stars in the sky and where you can lie in bed at night and hear nothing… absolutely nothing. No sirens, no boom boxes, no motorcycles leaving the neighborhood biker bar at 2 AM. And that silence is paradise to me.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? WELL, it was springish all winter until Monday when we got the biggest snow storm of the year :) TYPICAL!
2) What was your worst childhood injury? I got hit by a car and smashed the windshield with my head in 8th grade. Have not been quite right ever since.....
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? How about invisibility? Boys want to be invisible so that they can.....
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work? GOOD GOD almighty I DO do it, I would be making pots if I did not have to indeed! Although I will admit, it seemed amusing, and I swear I am not making this up, but not having had a job in 15 years, I applied for part-time work as an elderly gentleman's companion etc :) I am very good at chatting over tea and scones, and figured "you might pay me to do that????????????????????????"
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance? Poo. If it has to do with poo, I am not gonna do it. I have also been propositioned by people in the last 20 years and there is no way I am gonna get near anybody except my lady. Also, heights and snakes...keep me on ground, keep the snakes down in the south where they belong....
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? people who ride my bumper...and when I walk or bike? can't drivers give people more room?????
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? I live in paradise, but Ogunquit, Maine is wonderful, and so is New York city. Yes, NY is paradise. But in January? I think Key West is paradise....
1) Has spring sprung in your area?- In the past month, we've had spring, summer and autumn. My peonies are getting ready to bloom, I hope we don't get a frost that will kill them.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?- I got a Barbie shoe stuck up my nose when I was three. Had to be taken to the ER so they could extract it.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?- I love the way cats express their moods through their tails. So I choose tail.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?- I would lie in bed until around 8:30 or so, fix myself some toast and coffee, and maybe watch the news on TV. Then, I would probably go out in to the yard and mow and weed and clean off the patio. Just puttering around the house stuff!
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?- Eat 'ugly' foods (squid, okra and such), enable someone else's destructive behavior.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?- So many! Tailgaters, road ragers, texters, weavers, speeders. It makes me nuts.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?- Many years ago, my husband and I went to Cancun. The resort was lovely, but my favorite part was the early morning walks we took on the beach. Seeing the sunrise and feeling the water lap against my feet was heavenly.
1) ...sortof? i mean, it was in the mid-70s for a couple of weeks, then damned near 90, then down to 50. so i'm really not sure.
2) soft tissue damage to my knee, courtesy my ice skating instructor. she's no longer working in the Maryland/Delaware/Pennsylvania/Virginia/D.C. area in that capacity. the bitch. at least i can tell when it's going to rain or snow...

4) hang out with the puppy, catch up on housework.
5) i will not watch Human Centipede. for any reason.

1) Has spring sprung in your area? Barely...the daffodils just started blooming.
2) What was your worst childhood injury? Ran into my grandfather's shed, while on my bike and knocked out all my front teeth. No teeth for my school pictures for almost five years!

6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? People not signalling.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Key West, Florida is pretty cool...I could live there! Vegas is awesome too, but I would need a bigger bank account! Have been to Dominican, Cuba and Mexico. They look like paradise, but there is so much poverty there, it really isn't my idea of paradise.
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Oh, yeah. By mid-March, it looked like May - tulips and daffodils over, dogwoods out. I'm glad I resisted the temptation to fill the deck planters, though, as we've had freezing temps the last two nights. Crazy weather.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
I was running out of the kitchen, ice cream cone in hand, slipped, fell, and hit my head on the concrete step. I had to go get stitches but the worst part was the realization, my first time, of how quickly life can change. One minute you've got ice cream - the next, you're in the ER.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
The gift of flight, no question!
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Well, I don't, and today I'm going to get going on all of the files around here that need to be cleaned up and organized. What a Dream Day, huh? My favorite days lately are the ones when I go to the gym in the morning and then meet a friend for lunch. I love having the time to do stuff like that!
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
Watch horror/slasher movies. I don't want that stuff in my head and I object to the desensitization towards violence that they cause.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
People who don't use turn signals because they're on the fucking phone. HANG UP AND DRIVE.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
The Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii. Most gorgeous hotel I've ever stayed at, in the most beautiful surroundings.
) Has spring sprung in your area?
We are beyond spring. I planted tomatoes. Honeysuckle is blooming.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
I was badly burned when I was ten. Brother and I push fighting too near a very hot wood stove in winter. Still have scars and I have a desparate fear of burns. For nearly six months after the skin grew back on my hands I had no fingerprints. Made me a bit of a celebrity in 4th grade.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Flight, what kind of choice is that.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Everyday question when you work for yourself. I would go clothes shopping. I never get around to it and when I realize I need something it is too late.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
Watch horror movies. I have terrible nightmares.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
People stopping traffic to "let someone out". Stopping both lanes of traffic to wave out a left turner. Not safe, and not your job. Also, giant SUV's with tinted windows.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
Seely Lake in Montana in the summer. Floating on a boat in the middle of the lake, swimming in water lilies, feeling your feet brush the super cold water just below the thermal layer. Campfire at night, cold nights and bright stars. Also, the Ravalli Pass between Mission and Ravalli, Montana. You pass the National Bison Range on one side with buffalo grazing, then you come up over the rise and the valley is laid out below, mountains taller and sharper than you can believe.
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Technically I think it has. We haven't had temps below freezing in 10days and this last weekend we reached 80F. I even planted my tomatoes out this weekend, albeit with protection against cooler nights.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
I got stitches in my knee after hitting it on a backstroke bar during lifeguard training when I was 15. I never really got injured beyond bumps and bruises and was really more the queen of strange illnesses and bizarre allergic reactions.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Eeesh. I'm afraid of heights so I suppose tail by default.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Get up at my usual time, do yoga, putter in the yard, eat chocolate croissants and drink good coffee, sew on something just for me, listen to whatever I want without it being subject to critique from my children and husband, either make myself a yummy but simple dinner of my choice or not make dinner at all and just eat crusty bread and good cheese and fruit and more chocolate.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
I really want to say that I refuse to ever let my children meet my husband's mother but as there is always the slim possibility of a total personality transplant that includes learning to take personal responsibility for ones actions and the ability apologize, I'll go with allowing my daughter to have bratz dolls or their ilk.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
Tailgating or people who can't stand that I'm not doing at least 10mph over the speed limit and choose to pass me in dangerous places.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
I adore North Eastern OR in the Spring. But really just about any NW coastal forest makes my soul quiet and happy. And when I'm not feeling pessimistic about all the things that need to be done around here I actually do feel like my little patch of yard and home is paradise.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? absolutely...we had two weeks of warmth and things started budding early. Then a cold snap and back to sleep went the spring peepers. Now they're back and louder than ever! They sound like aliens LMAO!

7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Okinawa...it was beautiful! Not as populated as Hawaii, which was also beautiful.
1) yes
2) nosedive off a bicycle--ended up in a hospital for 3 days with stitches, half my face peeled off and a concussion.

2) What was your worst childhood injury? Broke my arm
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? Gift of flight, except I'm slightly scared of heights. But to be able to REALLY rise above things instead of just morally rising ...that would be great.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work? If I could have a day off of everything? I'd love to go to the Biltmore and just wander....or I'd love to go see a friend in Atlanta.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance? Well, harm a child on purpose. I refuse to *knowingly* do things that are against what I believe, or that could harm someone. I also refuse to give up on loving my children.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? Tailgaters, and people who feel they must pass you at a thousand miles an hour only to pull in front of you and slow down.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Italy. And southern Germany.

2) What was your worst childhood injury? - I went ass-over-teakettle in a bike collision once - I could easily have cracked open my skull, but fortunately, I just skinned up my elbow really really bad. I couldn't go swimming or take a shower for a week.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? Flight, of course. A tail would be a difficult fashion accessory.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work? Oh my god. That's my dream. I'd write, I'd travel, I'd explore, I'd garden.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance? Ummmmm....trying to think of something is actually not a pleasant task. Yes, there are probably many things, but I don't want to go there.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? Idiots who refuse to merge at the right time, but who think they can get a few car-lengths ahead by being total dicks.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Kauai....The Pacific Northwest....my own Topanga
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Yes - and it is early for Calgary. Which probably means a dump of snow in May. Or June. Maybe even July.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
I only had two (that I can remember...) Stitches on my foot at three and a 2nd degree burn on my arm when I was 14 or 15.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Gift of flight, hands down - so cool.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Read, knit, run and likely waste time on the computer, reading blogs and playing games.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
I think it depends on the circumstances - how about anything that puts my family at grave risk?
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
People who don't understand traffic circles or 4 way stops.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
Tropical? Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Mexico and Cook Islands. Also? My family cottage on a hot steamy day - doesn't get much better than that!
thanks navhelowife :) Esp. easy to be content now that my septic is fixed SPEAKING OF POO. I notice above that a) a lot of people also dislike drivers who ride their tail and b) one person at least says they would not be photographed unclothed. HA! You know how fire depts will have these fund raiser calendars, hunky firemen shirtless, with a hose suggestively...whatever? Let me be the first to volunteer to pose for the NEXT DERF fundraiser "Derfwad Manor Mancake: 13 months of the men of Derfwad for 2013". Surely there would be 12 other guys....?

1) instant third hand
2) instant weapon should you be ambushed
3) not putting this one in print
4) excellent for large group hugs
5) covert nocturnal swinging
this is just what i came up with in fifteen seconds
1) Has spring sprung in your area? It did, but Mother Nature is definitely messing with us.
2) What was your worst childhood injury? Probably a tie between my brother hitting me in the head with the claw part of a hammer when I walked up behind him (I know...it explains a lot), or taking a dive when running, tripping on the sidewalk and stopping myself with my chin. A trip to the ER, stitches and a big sucker were involved!
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? definitely flight....if I picked tail, I'd probably end up as a rodent instead of a spoiled dog or cat....I'm taking no chances!

7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Sitting on the beach in New Hampshire - the first time I'd ever seen the Atlantic ocean. I sat for hours alone, watching the waves and finally understanding how huge and amazing this world is. While it was more than 20 years ago, I remember it clearly - the perfect moment, the calm, the sweetness of realization, of feeling human.
A tail could also make a cool '?' when you give the crazy people in your life the WTF look. A tail could be swished or thumped quickly to warn others of your displeasure with them. A tail could also be a built in toy for when you are bored. I was going to go with flight, but then I thought about all t he pigeons I see flying in to the sides of mirrored glass buildings and figured it just wasn't worth it.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? Absolutely! I have had three or four top down rides home from work all ready. And one top down ride TO work. Bad hair = who cares!

3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? I think the gift of flight.

7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Almost every beach that I have been on. I am very partial to a couple of beaches in the Charleston area, though.
Kelley, I didn't want to brag but I think you and I (and the other one or two tail pickers) are the true visionaries here.
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Yes. WAY early. This doesn't mean there won't be more snow, our last frost date is still 5/15, but yesterday it was in the mid-80's. Today too. (This is not unusual for around here - 80 degrees one day, snowing two days later.) It also means I'm stocked up on the antihistamines because it's going to be a LONG pollen season.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
Either 1. when a door slammed on my finger, catching the fleshy part and slicing it open, or 2. we were playing around a swingset on the ground and it came up and hit me just on one front tooth, taking off the lower half of it or 3. I was bit in the face by a dog. It's actually #2 that's caused me the most grief as I've gotten older.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Flight. What would I do with a tail? Not to mention jeans that fit are hard enough to find.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Um, I kind of don't have to right now. I have a lot of errands to run, but if I wasn't running those, I'd probably be cleaning the house. I'm not really in a place where I can enjoy being idle.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
I can't really answer this without knowing the circumstances. It's not a global thing with me, but a specific.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
Two: people who change lanes without signaling and people whose brake lights, especially the top one, are out. If you have a modern car, there's an idiot light on the dash that tells you when that light is out, so go down to the autoparts store, cough up a couple of bucks, get a new bulb, and change it. It's not rocket science and the car that you keep from being hit may be your own.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
I don't believe in paradise. Every place has its ups and downs, nowhere is perfect.
Given that, there's one spot along a river in a state park in Northern NJ not too far from where I grew up which is the most peaceful place I know. There are bugs and humidity, it's not paradise, but its where I'd like part of my ashes scattered when I die. I used to sit there and watch the water and just be surrounded by green.
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Yes! My iris are going to town and my tulips are already gonners.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
Fell off my bike and had to get 19 stitches in my chin when I was 8 or 9. I have a nice zipper chin now. Actually, I have 2 chins but only 1 with a zipper scar.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Flight. I don't need anything extra hangin' off of me.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Sit on my arse and read. All Day Long.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
The first think I think of with "under any circumstance" is something happening to one of my kids because I'm a freak about them. So, no I guess not.

People that pull out in front of me and then go realllllly sllllllow.

2) What was your worst childhood injury? I didn't get the injuries, I got the diseases - Hospital in 1st grade for double pneumonia, Bell's Palsy in 7th grade, Mono in 10th grade. Didn't get my first stitches until I was 29.

3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? A Tail? I'm not sure why a tail would be better then flight. I would love to fly with the hawks.

2) What was your worst childhood injury? I have had a lifelong affinity for Tinker Belle, and once, when I was a mere 18 months old, I climbed to the top of a dresser and channeling that famous fairy, sprang forth in a short flight, the landing of which broke my left leg. My mother's dramatic retelling of the tale probably made it worse than it actually was.

7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Sedona, AZ
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Yes, it actually came very early for Chicago after a mild, mild winter. Everything is blooming ahead of schedule. Chicago plants tons of tulips around the city & suburbs in the spring so it is tulip mania around here, and I love it. My Dad (in Kansas, and raised on a farm) is concerned about the wheat crop and a possible late freeze.
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
Breaking my pinkie finger.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
Why would I want a tail? Would it come with an interest in said tail, so I could amuse myself by running in circles all day? I’d rather have the gift of flight, so I could get places quickly without needing a car or train.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
In reality I would be at home with my kids but if money/time/location weren’t an issue, I’d love to spend a day w/girlfriends, having lunch, thrift shopping, then drinks.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
Today I said I would refuse to work for a specific person who may be interested in the open position I report to. Truthfully, I would work for that person as long as it took me to find a new job. Otherwise, it's hard for me to think of anything I would refuse to do, besides obvious absurd & horrid things.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
People riding my ass! Chances are you’re just impatient, not in an emergency situation. Chill out because you’re stressing me out & you might hit me.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
My uncle runs a horse ranch on the side of a mountain in the Sangre de Cristos in Colorado. The little ranch house overlooks a pond, which overlooks the Wet Mountain Valley and the Wet Mountains. That was paradise. The story goes that when the Spanish exclaimed “Sangre de Cristo!” (Blood of Christ!) upon seeing the sunset in the valley, but it looks like that’s probably not true. Nice story, though.
I am too utilitarian. I'm thinking of how to afford an increased number of visits home because after my trip there recently, I miss my family so much. But it would be awesome to be able to fly even if it was just to roam around my neighborhood.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? Sort of, then the big snow storm arrived a couple days ago.

6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? People multi-tasking when they are at the wheel and people who get enraged by others' driving skills - you're only getting to a to b like the rest of us, lighten up, it will probably all be alright in the end!
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? There used to be a place on a small island in Thailand that really was my paradise on earth when I lived in Bangkok, the island has since become a tourist destination and the inn that had most everything you could ever want or need (think TWC on vacation) has since been sold to developers. So sad, but I'm glad I was able to spend time there over the past 15 years. Next winter I am going in search of the next beautiful place.
1) Has spring sprung in your area?
Green grass and pink tree blossoms -Yes.
Daffodils and tulips? Not yet
2) What was your worst childhood injury?
While playing a neighborhood game of hide-n-seek, I tripped and broke my fall with my hand. For 5 days, while my hand healed from the superficial wounds, I kept telling my dad that my wrist hurt, (I was about 10 years old at the time.) Finally my PE teacher had the nurse write a note home; we went to the doctor and I spent the next 6 weeks in a metal splint.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice?
I'm instantly thinking of the book, I Wish That I Had Duck Feet... while a tail would be very cool, it comes with a set of challenges -- and since I am already fashion-challenged AND challenged in my fine motor coordination, I will pass up on the tail. Flying would be kind of fun, if I could get over my fear of falling.
But what I really want is the ability to teleport. Teleportation -- that's my desired superpower.
4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work?
Admittedly, I spent much too much time on the computer... and given free reign, I'd spend even more.
But today? My husband is retired and today we visited a beautiful city park and went for a lovely walk. I also did 30 minutes of gentle yoga, read for a little bit (need to do more), whipped up some homemade biscotti, and did 2 loads of laundry. The sheets will smell so good when they come off the clothesline! This evening I am attending a wee baroque concert in a historic home with a good friend. Yes, today is nearly perfect -- so much so that I feel guilty! (I'm enjoying it anyway.)
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
I was stuck on this one until I read some of the other answers above: watch horror/slasher movies. No way, no how, not gonna happen!

4) What would you do today if you didn’t have to work? quiet morning with coffee on the deck watching the Dall Sheep up on the mountain behind my house. a bit of yard clean-up work and then some sewing. dinner prep with hubby and some baking would be nice too. but I'm at work and hubby will have dinner done for me tonight. we can still watch the sheep after dinner though.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance? drink beer
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic? people driving in the dark with no lights, or just one headlight. makes me crazy. I have been known to follow them until I can get their attention. it's so dangerous on those long dark Alaskan nights and dark roads with no street lights. like someone else said, the newer cars even tell you when a light is burned out. it's plenty light out now up here, so I don't have to stress about it for about 6 months.
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Sanibel Island Florida.
Nix on the tail, ladies - it's hard enough to find jeans that fit as it is.
Thanks for giving me fresh ideas for all the horrible ways my children could get injured. I needed something new to obsess about.
Of course, Gary is happy. He lives in paradise.
1. Yep about3-4 weeks ahead this year due to mild winter and HOT dry Spring. We need rain!
2. Ran my bike into the back of the neignbors car and somehow smashed my face and mouth. Chipped all those teeth that had just been freed from braces the day before. The parents were NOT pleased!
3. What the hell would I do with a tail?!!! Fly baby, fly!!!
4. Have a lazy breakfast w/ The Man, work in the garden, maybe sew, take a nap (in the hammock!) and figure out where we were going for dinner, but alas I am working all the time these days!
5. Yes, but we aren't going to talk about THAT! But if you need something...I don't like beer, at all!
6. Right hand turns from the far left lane and right in front of you with no warning!
7. Coastal Maine in summer rings alot bells for me, Vermont does too all year. Probably would like most mountainous areas.
Carmel by the Sea/ Monterrey and that coastal area of Californis is pretty nifty too. I did like Whidbey and Bainbridge Islands in Washington when I was there in the early 80's.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? Yes! Are you kidding? In NC it's practically mid-summer.

sleep, get a massage, and read.
5) Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstance?
I can't rule anything out without knowing the circumstances.
6) What is your pet peeve in traffic?
So many, but I will go with people that try to "cut in line" when they know they are going to have to get over due to some obstacle, but speed up and get as close to the obstacle as possible and then expect you to let them in when you have been paying your dues and sitting in that fricking traffic the whole time! argggghhh!!
7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise?
Sierra Nevadas, but really any remote bit of green wilderness or country will do.
1) Has spring sprung in your area? Oh, finally, yes. The lilacs under my window smell gorgeous.
2) What was your worst childhood injury? I broke my arm selling girl scout cookies. Not because I sold door-to-door to a crack house, but because I slipped and fell down the stairs in my excitement to return my full cookie order sheet, the first time I'd ever gotten more than a handful of orders.
3) Jay Mohr claims Christopher Walken once asked him, "Would you rather have a tail, or the gift of flight?" What would be your choice? 7) Where in the world have you been that you thought was paradise? Paris in the springtime. : )
How much fun to read all of these! Even more interesting is that I've been to many of the listed 'paradise' locations. (no European ones but a whole lot of the rest.) And reading each description brought back so many good memories. Sweet! (Gary R., will be in Ogunquit Friday night for an evening of music fun...will think of you.) The Tail vs Flight is pretty funny and kudo's to those who can imagine the benefits of the extra appendage!
