If you done it, it ain't bragging. ~Walt Whitman
Mrs. G. misses her old Slow Cook Thursdays. There is little she likes more about social networking than the actual social and networking part.
So in an effort to maintain tried and true connections and perhaps forge new ones here and there, she thought she'd throw open her blog each weekend to create a communal spot where you derfs can give yourselves a shout out, share your wealth.
Have you written a post of which you are particularly proud? Cooked up an amazing dish? Snapped a stunning shot? Created something beautiful you want to share?
If so, pony up! Leave a link in the comments so the rest of us can enjoy and live a little.

I didn't write this but it is so beautiful: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/16/opinion/sunday/notes-from-a-dragon-mom.html
Oh stephanie thank you. This article is so so so beautiful and true.
"This is a love story, and like all great love stories, it is a story of loss. Parenting, I’ve come to understand, is about loving my child today. Now. In fact, for any parent, anywhere, that’s all there is. "
I've always felt this terrible longing for my son, right there with him watching him grow and move forward in life, there has been this "wait! slow down. oh no not so fast!" sort of angst. And this article is what that is about. None of us, none of this great, explosive, overwhelming love is permanent-none of it is forever.
Thank you for sharing "Notes From a Dragon Mom".
I have nothing to share but just have to say: Mrs. G, the photos you post blow my mind. Fantastic!

The facebook addy doesn't do a thing, so if interested search Amy Miller Bishop (Mechanicsville, Iowa) on Facebook and go to photos. It's the album tagged Mixed Media Art. Thanks for the opportunity to share Mrs. G! Your blog is the bomb :)
Amy, those are just gorgeous.
Wow. Notes from a Dragon Mom. Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing.
Amy, your work is amazing, so alive! I see that much of it is sold. Where would one go if she wanted to purchase a piece. Include your link, you talented woman you!

I have been working on lots on new designs, but am especially proud of the slap bracelets.
I want to keep them all!
Do any of you remember the name of the Derf who did the amazing 'doodles' - her phrase not mine. I know she and I emailed but I can't find it anywhere and I have a new kitchen to decorate y'all.
Thank you all ladies for so much inspiration that came from last Saturday's post. My set of working drafts for new posts are all calling to me.
I shall have to look around at these links above indeed! For my own self, today's post is pretty good...well, yesterday was not bad...and the movie one a couple days ago had a lot of commenters....etc :) http://garysthirdpotteryblog.blogspot.com/
I'm especially proud of our wild creative FUNdraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness last night! Read all about it here
Hey Molly, I haven't heard from you in so long it was great to see your name pop up. Your snap bracelets are EXQUISITE! I have always been such an admirer of your work. I wouldn't be right if I didn't link your gallery:

Your "Raspberry Confection" inspired drool--you are so talented. I hope your sweet chickadee is well!
Lala, your bra decorating party looks like it was a blast! Good for you and your friends for donating your time, creativity, love and bras to such a good cause!
Trash, I don't remember, but I bet someone else will. Bring it up in Weekend Witness because so many people read it I'm sure someone will come along who remembers.
I read the Dragon Mom piece last week and it is so moving and relevant to all parents. Also, if you want to read more of that writer, she wrote a fantastic book called "Poster Child" about growing up with a disability--to her delight (and eventual dismay) she became a poster child (and as she says, became a seasoned actor playing the part) for the March of Dimes. The book, as I mentioned before, is tremendously moving but it is also laugh out loud funny.
Amy, those are stunning! I loved so many of them, it's hard to pick a favorite!
i haven't! my blogs have been boring lately! (come by and see for yourself.)
But i had to say how much i love that photo.
Yesterday I went with some friends to a scrapbook convention and got all kinds of inspired. I played around in the craft room last night, and here's the results- http://kelleyscasa.blogspot.com/2011/10/time-out.html
Amy, I love the photo collages! I really like the one w/the windows/doorways & the lion.
Molly - wow. I'm really blown away by your work. The traffic light in Missoula and "Past is Prologue" from your gallery are incredible.
Hey Trash....you might ask SmallTownMom about the doodles...i seem to remember her doing something like that!! If it's not her, get in touch with me, i might know of someone else who could also help you out with your search for doodly-looking art!!!
